Dr. Gregory B. Viste, NARTDI Executive Director, delightedly announced during the Monday Convocation held at the facade of NARTDI Building on December 6, 2021 that all 42 personnel of the National Apiculture Research, Training and Development Institute (NARTDI) are now fully vaccinated.

Dr. Viste expressed that getting vaccinated is a noble contribution to the nation as NARTDI helps ensure a safer environment for all stakeholders especially the beekeepers and students availing training.

“NARTDI is compliant with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) protocols; hence, we are confidently ready to conduct face-to-face beekeeping training as part of our mandate,” Dr. Viste said.

“Getting vaccinated is one way to protect ourselves, our family, and our workmates against the threat of the COVID-19 virus. It is vital for achieving the herd immunity threshold which we need to mitigate the pandemic and to go back to normal life,” he added.

The 100% vaccination rate of the Institute contribute to the target herd immunity of the University against COVID-19. About 50 percent of the personnel were vaccinated during the vaccination roll out conducted in the Campus and others were vaccinated in their respective Rural Health Units. (Lester Orpilla)
