LHS Batch ’96 opted an environment-friendly activity for their reunion and gathered on March 27 nearby DMMMSU SLUC College of Fisheries at Ubagan, Sto. Tomas, La Union to plant mangroves.

Dubbed “BAKAWAN PARA SA KINABUKASAN NG KALIKASAN: A Mangrove Planting of Batang ’96”, the alumni of the Laboratory High School led by Batch president, Atty. Debbie Rona C. Perez, planted a total of 1000 mangroves in the area. The activity was done in partnership with DMMMSU SLUC College of Fisheries, Prof. Theresa Calicdan, Prof. Ramon Florendo, Prof. Camilo Jucutan, Prof. Jonie Boado, and Kagawad Bilog. The bakawan (mangrove) were requested from the provincial government of La Union.
