DMMMSU-SLUC Batch of 1984 particularly those from then Section 3, through their project “DMMMSU Alumni Scholarship: “Alay ng Batch 84 Section 3 sa Batang may Pangarap”, offer 4-year scholarships to students in DMMMSU. Five students (2 BS Nursing, 2 Bachelor of Elementary Education, and 1 BS Computer Science) are their first recipients.
From the Php 150, 000 – project, 5 scholars will be receiving Php 7, 500. 00 per school year, for 4 years from 2020-2024. The said amount is divided into 10 months or 2 semesters per year where scholars will receive PhP 750. 00 each month. Scholars, however, will not be given the amount in cash but in the form of internet load, as the scholarship is centered on helping the scholars cope with their online classes. The sponsors hope to see these students succeed during these most trying times in schooling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This project was coordinated by Batch of 1984 with Dr. Delia Imperial, the Director for Alumni in the University. President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. extends his thanks to Batch of 1984 for their support of DMMMSU and its students: “It’s during this most difficult times in the life of our students that we badly need more generous benefactors. May the initiatives of Batch ’84 inspire others to extend help. Any help given to our students will be most welcomed and appreciated.” (Ayu)
