Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and Heightened Enhanced Community Quarantine in the City of San Fernando, the faculty and staff of DMMMSU Open University System gave face masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to frontliners in the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) on March 31, 2020.

Dubbed as “Handog Pasasalamat mula sa DMMMSU Open University System”, this gesture of appreciation for the ITRMC frontliners is DOUS’ way of encouraging them to keep rendering their much needed services to the public.

The PPEs were packed by some DOUS personnel and a note was attached to each item which reads, “Para sa kaligtasan ng lahat kayo ay lumalaban. Ang inyong serbisyo at sakripisyo’y di mapapantayan. Dahil sa pagkakaisa at bayanihan may magandang kinabukasan. Kasama ninyo kami sa bawat laban…Maraming Salamat, City of San Fernando!”.

By providing the frontliners with face masks and PPEs, it is hoped that the battle against COVID-19 will be won at the soonest possible time. (Ces Mabalot)
