In support of DMMMSU’s program, DMMMSU Para sa Elyu, DMMMSU-SLUC sent their first wave of donations to La Union Medical Center (LUMC) at Agoo, Caba Medicare Community Hospital, and Rosario District Hospital, yesterday, April 1, 2020.
SLUC Chancellor Dr. Floribeth P. Cuison called for donations for face shields and fruits for frontline workers in the Second District of La Union, as hospitals in the First District had already received help from DMMMSU, last week of March.
The SLUC Faculty Association, the SLUC Non-Teaching Association, and the University FAD responded to the Chancellor’s call, shared their resources. Not only did they donate finances but also shared their time and skill in preparing face shields.
Miss Claire Fonbuena, OIC Chief Nurse, received for LUMC 500 face shields, 300 pieces acetate films, and 100 bags.
Dr. Aromin, Chief of Caba District Hospital received for their staff 200 face shields and 50 bags of fruits.
Meanwhile, Mr. Alexander Flores, Administrative Officer, received for Rosario District Hospital, 200 face shields and 50 bags of fruits.
Despite the challenge of limited movement due to the enhanced community quarantine, DMMMSU-SLUC administrators, faculty and staff, made it possible to reach out to frontline workers.
They will be sending another round of donations next week.
