One hundred fifteen alumni and retirees were treated with fun and excitement during the Alumni and Retirees’ Day held on January 17, 2020 at the DMMMSU- NLUC Multipurpose Center, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union. Retirees and alumni , young and old alike actively participated in community dances and games. Among the participants were some officers of the LUAS Pioneers Alumni Association led by their President Remedios Mun- Corpuz, Retired P/Maj. Alfredo Amita- Vice President, Estela Bacate- Ayson – Treasurer, Primitiva Culbengan- Vanderpoorten- Coordinator and Priscilla Q. Gonzales- Consultant. The DMMMSU NLUC Alumni Association (umbrella association) members were led by their President Allen J. Ngilangil.

Featured alumni during the day were: Faustino Aromin, BSA Batch 1983 and Crispin Pajimola, HS Batch 83 and BSAEd Batch 87.  Faustino Aromin has established his Flourish Farms  in Basuit, San Ildefonso, Bulacan. Tino, as he was fondly called, brought some samples of the Farm’s mushroom-based products. He also invited the participants to visit his farm or attend training on mushroom production. Crispin Pajimola, on the other hand, is now the Vice President for UNAHGRO Operations of UNIVET, Inc. Despite missing the occasion due to his prior engagement, Crispin Pajimola brought to the organizers some items which were given to the participants as door prizes or games prizes.

Fueled with the desire to contribute to the goals of the University as well as its members, the DMMMSU NLUC Retirees Association was organized later during the day and elected new set of ffficers. Elected President was Atty. Benjamin P. Sapitula, immediate past president of DMMMSU, Vice President- Mario B. Mendoza, Secretary – Vivina E. Villanueva, Treasurer – Felicidad M. Benitez, Auditor – Luisita Hernaez, Business Managers – Erlinda Lucero and Josephine Ballesteros, and Consultant – Ma. Minda L. Fontanilla.
