Anchoring on his experiences gained and lessons learned, Philip T. Subala’s blog bagged the 5th Best Blog Award of the SEA-Teacher Project—under the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO)—as announced during the evaluation meeting in Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University, Thailand, on November 8, 2019.

The Bachelor of Elementary Education IV student of the Mid La Union Campus bested 343 blog submissions from 419 participating students of the 8th batch of the SEA-Teacher Project. Thirty-six blogs were selected to be outstanding winners.

Among the Top 5 winners are students from Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (Philippines), Tadulako University (Indonesia), Lampang Rajabhat University (Thailand), Cantho University (Vietnam), and Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (Philippines).

Subala was among the university’s outbound students during August to September 2019. He was received by the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara in Indonesia—and was given the opportunity to experience teaching on a multi-cultural level, and immersed in Indonesian culture.

In one of his blog posts, Subala acknowledged DMMMSU’s initiative in making the institution world-class through internationalization efforts, and for sending them as the first batch of SEA Teachers.

The blog writing is one of the criteria for participating students to be eligible for e-Certificate of accomplishment issued by SEAMEO secretariat.
