Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) conducted an awareness training session on the ISO 9001:2015 standard for newly hired and designated personnel on February 21, 2025.

This training, facilitated by the University’s Quality Assurance (QA) Office, aimed to enhance the participant’s understanding of the institution’s quality management system.

Participants engaged in a series of comprehensive lectures and discussions addressing several key topics. These included the detailed requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard; the incorporation of climate change considerations within ISO elements 4.1 and 4.4; the advantages of implementing the ISO 9001:2015 management system; the principles of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) and Risk-Based Thinking within the context of management systems; the leadership criteria outlined in the standard; and the methodology for revising existing systems and practices to achieve compliance with ISO requirements.

The session underscored the significance of aligning ISO 9001:2015 with strategic business objectives to foster continuous improvement and facilitate effective performance evaluation.

After the training, a post-test was administered to evaluate the participants’ comprehension of the presented materials.
