Bacnotan, La Union — DMMMSU College of Law, in collaboration with the College of Law Student Council (CLSC), held a grand testimonial dinner titled “DMMMSU’s Most Valuable Lawyers: Honoring a Journey of Excellence” to celebrate its 2024 MarVeLous Bar Exam passers. The event, held at the DMMMSU International Convention Center, on February 22, 2025, highlighted the achievements of 15 new lawyers.

Associate Justice of the Philippines Supreme Court and Chairperson of the 2024 Bar Examinations, Hon. Mario V. Lopez, graced the occasion as the guest of honor and speaker. In his keynote address, he shared his personal journey to success, emphasizing the importance of integrity, fairness, and the unwavering pursuit of justice in building a meaningful legal career. Justice Lopez urged the new lawyers to embody excellence in legal knowledge and moral character, underscoring that every challenge is an opportunity to rise higher.
The event was marked by heartfelt speeches, moments of reflection, and a reflective sense of pride in the institution’s enduring legacy of academic and professional excellence. DMMMSU officials, including University President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Quality Assurance Prof. Lilito D. Gavina, and College of Law Dean Atty. Honorio G. Buccat, Jr., expressed their admiration for the bar passers’ achievements. The new lawyers recounted tales of unwavering passion and remarkable resilience, qualities that proved indispensable to their success at the Bar.
The testimonial dinner kindled a flame of hope and inspiration for future candidates, reinforcing the theme #AJustBarAwaits. It also highlighted the College of Law’s steadfast support for its alums, a commitment that extends before and after the demanding Bar examinations.
In their Facebook post, the College of Law extended their special recognition to local government officials such as Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, Vice Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, Bacnotan Mayor Divine C. Fontanilla, and Mr. Nikko “Big Manong” Fontanilla, whose support contributed to the event’s success.
