San Fernando, La Union – On February 8, 2025, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University’s Mid La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC) received a gift from its Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education (BSIE) alumni, Batch ’82. The alumni group generously donated Php 20,000 for the acquisition of two sewing machines, earmarked to enhance the practical training components of the Bachelor of Technology and Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd) and Bachelor of Technology in Livelihood Education (BTLEd) programs.

Spearheaded by Dr. Eduardo C. Corpus, and supported by fellow officers Ms. Mercedes Boadilla, Ms. Rebecca Macaraeg (Secretary), and Ms. Zaida Carino (Treasurer), among other members, this kind gesture from the alumni seeks to enrich the pedagogical experience within the Garments and Fashion Design and Home Economics specializations. By providing access to contemporary equipment for garment construction and pattern making, the donation directly supports the development of crucial technical skills, thereby advancing DMMMSU’s strategic objective of cultivating highly competent educators.

The donation was formally received by Dean Cedric Anthony E. Ochoco of the College of Education, and Ms. Josephine Ducusin, representing the BTVTEd and BTLEd programs. The ceremony shows an enduring bond between DMMMSU and its alumni network, underscoring the vital role of such partnerships in facilitating institutional advancement and enriching the learning environment for students.
