The Guidance and Counseling Unit of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-North La Union Campus (DMMMSU-NLUC) hosted a seminar titled “Resiliency Amidst Adversity: Facing Life’s Challenges, Adversities, and Crises” on January 22, 2025, at the Audio-Visual Room, BPAA Complex.

The program opened with welcome remarks from Prof. Joel C. Agullo, Head of Student Affairs and Services (SAS), who stressed the importance of resilience in overcoming life’s challenges.

Ms. Therese P. Palacpac, Guidance and Counseling Unit In-Charge, discussed Building Resilience and Mental Strength, offering strategies for emotional resilience and stress management. Prof. Maricel C. Parrocha from the College of Management then presented on Financial Management, providing practical advice on budgeting, saving, and managing personal finances. Finally, Dr. Amapola Z. Villar, Head of the Education and Training Unit of OWWA, gave an OWWA Scholarship Orientation, explaining the available scholarships and how students can apply for financial assistance.

This seminar aims to assist students in building resilience and mental strength; equip students with knowledge and skills in financial management; and orient students to the OWWA Scholarship Program.

The seminar was attended by DMMMSU-NLUC students whose parents are working abroad, aiming to equip them with tools to navigate life’s challenges effectively.
