Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University is holding a week-long celebration of its 44th Foundation Anniversary, with activities highlighting its achievements and continuous commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and global relevance.
On January 13, the celebration started with a Thanksgiving Mass, followed by the Opening of Bazaars/Booths and student activities across the Campuses. University and Campus officials, led by the President and Vice Presidents, paid homage to the university’s founders by laying floral offerings, a gesture of respect and gratitude for DMMMSU’s founders and rich history. This day also served as an occasion to honor the contributions of retirees at the North La Union Campus.
January 14 was dedicated to Campus Celebrations, where the accomplishments of faculty members, students, academic units, nonteaching personnel, and the contributions of benefactors and past administrators were recognized. Personnel were also honored for their years of service.
The University Awards and Recognition were held on the morning of January 15 at the Mid La Union Campus. In the afternoon, Aldaw ti Pinagdidinanggay, featuring cultural performances of students, was also held.
During the University Awards and Recognition Program, President Manuel presented the highlights of the achievements over the past year. These included quality assurance initiatives, advancements in academic programs, global rankings, infrastructure development, research, innovations, research publications, extension, and sustainability initiatives.
On January 16, the university’s strides in research and innovation were celebrated on University Research, Development, and Innovation Day. University Student Council (USC) Activities also brought together student leaders.
The week-long celebration culminates with Retiree’s Day, honoring the contributions of retired faculty members and staff and cultural activities on other campuses.
DMMMSU’s 44th Foundation Anniversary celebration provides a platform to celebrate the University’s successes and inspire future endeavors.
