The Student Teachers Association (STA), led by Dr. Estrella L. Viste, organized a two-day seminar on Disaster Preparedness and the Legal Bases of the Teaching Profession at the Audio Visual Room, BPAA Complex, on January 7-8, 2025.

On the first day, Dr. Nora A. Oredina, Dean of the College of Education, delivered the opening remarks, followed by the statement of purpose by Mr. Andrew Lopez, STA Officer. Prof. Randulph I. Navasca, Director of Disaster Risk Reduction Management, discussed Disaster Preparedness, while Dr. Salvador P. Llavore, Campus Head for Disaster Risk Reduction Management, lectured on Basic Life Support. The session concluded with an open forum and impressions shared by student representatives from various courses.

The second day opened with remarks from Dr. Marife D. Cariaso, SED Program Chair, and a statement of purpose from Ms. Jezzel G.Cabanban. The first session, conducted by Mr. Gilmore G. Sario, covered key laws, including RA 9262 (Anti-Violence against Women and their Children), RA 10627 (Anti-Bullying Act of 2013), RA 7877 (Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995), and DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012 (Child Protection Policy). The second session featured Dr. Rochelle M. Verganio, who discussed Resolution No. 435, 1997, the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers.

The seminar was organized to empower the student teachers and equip them with confidence in preparation for their off-campus teaching. (𝗕𝘆 𝗥𝗠𝗩)
