DMMMSU has further expanded its global engagements through industry visits in Indonesia and Vietnam, underscoring its commitment to fostering academia-industry collaboration and technological innovation. These activities are part of the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Levelling-Up Advanced Knowledge for the Adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (LAKAS) Program, under the approved project titled Advancing Ilocos IFP Food Systems through Academia-Industry Collaborative Research and Innovations toward Healthy Food Security.

On December 10, 2024, the DMMMSU delegation, in partnership with Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI), visited ISMAPSTI and the Post-Harvest Research and Development Center in Bogor, Indonesia. The visit highlighted agricultural postharvest innovations, with the delegation exploring advanced laboratories such as Nano-Milling. Official merchandise was presented to the Agricultural Post-Harvest R&D team, symbolizing strengthened ties and paving the way for future collaborative research initiatives.

Meanwhile, on December 13, 2024, the DMMMSU team visited the Satori Việt Nam factory in Long An, Vietnam, hosted by the International Education Institute – Van Lang University (IEI-VLU). The visit offered insights into Vietnam’s food and beverage industry, emphasizing advanced production technologies, quality control practices, and sustainable industrial processes.

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Duong Trung Loi, Chairman of Satori, who shared the company’s guiding principle, stating, “The journey of understanding builds trust. Only by truly understanding our customers’ needs can we establish unwavering trust in our products.” The visit featured an in-depth look at Satori’s state-of-the-art production systems, including automated robotics for purification, bottle cleaning, and bottling, showcasing cutting-edge efficiency and precision.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lan, Head of Global Engagement at IEI, expressed optimism about future collaborations, saying, “We look forward to organizing more field trips and company visits to provide valuable real-world insights for our students.”

DMMMSU delegation was headed by Dr. Dr. Angelina T. Gonzales, Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation, and Dr. Priscilo P. Fontanilla, Jr., Vice President for Planning and Development.
