The College of Education (CE) at the South La Union Campus (SLUC) recently concluded its 3-day faculty development program, Advancing Pedagogical Proficiency: Faculty Development Training for Enhanced Teaching and Assessment Strategies, held at the Teacher’s Training Center on three Wednesday sessions in September.

The initiative aimed to equip the College of Education, College of Agriculture, and College of Arts and Sciences-General Education faculty members with enhanced teaching and assessment strategies, focusing on instructional material preparation and grade computation techniques.

Dr. Melda Uychoco kicked off the training by discussing how to align assessments with learning objectives on September 11. Dr. Ryan L. Cerveza followed with a session on standardized grading methodologies to ensure fairness and consistency on September 18. The program concluded with Dr. Emmanuel J. Songcuan’s workshop on developing and using rubrics for objective student assessment on September 25.

Through this program, SLUC-CE is investing in the future of education and ensuring that students receive the highest quality instruction.
