BCAED students were highlighted as performers during the La Union Tourism Summit 2024 held at the La Union Convention Center (Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center) on September 25, 2024.
The performances showcased dances, music of the province of La Union as a melting pot of life ways of the Hispanic plains of Ilocos, the mystic grandeur of the Cordilleras and the generous seas of Pangasinan.
Two groups were prior invited by Gov. Raphael Veronica “Raffy” David through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office. These groups are the DMMMSU Rondalla and the Rimat ti Ilocano Folk Dance Troupe.
Through shared experiences and collaboration in discovering tourism activities as a potential bridge to cultures and communities, the Provincial Government of La Union in partnership with different sectors conducted this event with hopes to promote harmony and understanding.
The DMMMSU Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAED) shares the same vision with this development goal by promoting local culture and identity. The collaboration between local government units is an opportunity in developing programs and activities responsive to local and global contexts of production, circulation and consumption of creative expressions as stated in CMO 82 S.2017.
