NLUC new leaders from the Barangay, Municipal, Provincial, and Regional levels were inducted into office at the Ortega Memorial Center on September 16, 2024. Besides the Student Body Organization Officers, the Editorial Board of the Student Publication Unit and allied organizations from various institutes and colleges were also inducted.

Anchored in the theme, “Sinag ng Pamumuno: Liwanag ng Pagkakaisa, Gabay sa Pagbabago,” the induction of student officers marked their official pledge of service. The event was attended by their advisers and Hon. Mario Eduardo “TOT” C. Ortega, Vice Governor of the Province of La Union, who served as the inducting officer.

“Leaders are those who know where they came from. Hindi ibig sabihin na kung ikaw ay tinitingala, at ginagawang VIP ngayon, ay ganyan ang turing sayo hanggang kailanman. There will be a time that you need to come back to where you begin. Sometimes, the journey leads us back to the beginning, not to start over, but to understand how far we’ve come and how much we’ve grown,” Hon. Ortega said in his inspirational message.

Hon. Ortega also emphasized the importance of leadership grounded in understanding one’s origins and the continuous journey of personal and communal growth. “Our roles as leaders are not just about the titles we hold but about the impact we make and the paths we pave for future generations.”
