The DMMMSU Open University System Gender and Development (GAD) Office, in coordination with SIFCare La Union, facilitated a Health and Wellness through Acudetox and Music Meditation activity at DOUS on Sept.11, 2024.

The Benefits of Acudetox and Meditation as a Holistic and Gender-balanced approach to Health & Wellness were discussed by Ms. Dixie Palmos, SIFCare Wellness Program Coordinator.

SIFCare is an acronym for Science of Identity Foundation Community Assistance for Responsible Existence. It is the humanitarian arm of the foundation working for the development of enlightened, happy individuals and communities.

In her talk, Ms. Palmos outlined the gender-specific benefits of acupuncture as a holistic and gender-balanced approach to health and wellness.

SIFCare volunteers facilitated the NADA Acudetox or ear acupuncture session, followed by a Yoga session led by Ms. Tanya Vrubel, a certified yoga and meditation teacher from Russia.  A Music Meditation session was led by Ms. Nimai Dasi Tamayo,  leaving the participants feeling relaxed and more centered at the end of the Health and Wellness activity.

The DOUS Faculty Association and DOUS Non-Teaching Association co-facilitated the said activity.
