Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences (DMMMSU-CCHAMS) faculty members and students ventured on Medical Mission: Spreading Light, Healing Communities Medical, Dental, Ophthalmology, and Minor Surgical Mission on June 8, 2024, at San Agustin East Barangay Center, Agoo, La Union.
The medical service team, led by healthcare professionals, provided medical check-ups and consultations, circumcision services, dental services, and ophthalmology services; distributed free reading glasses, vitamins, and essential medicines; and conducted feeding and nutrition programs.
CCHAMS collaborated with sponsors, such as Diego Silang Masonic Lodge No. 417, Agoo Travelers Fraternal Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States MOH Telesforo Trinidad Post 124, La Union Fil-Chi Chamber of Commerce, Agoo Municipal Health Office, San Agustin East Barangay Council, Panlalawigang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan, Operating Room Nurses Association of the Philippines, and DMMMSU CCHAMS Extension Unit.
DMMMSU-CCHAMS volunteers include Prof. Marites E. Rivera, Extension Facilitator; Dr. Jovencio M. Milan Jr., Quality Assurance Facilitator; Mr. Jonathan C. Clata, Research Focal Person; and Dr. Joel C. Estacio, DMMMSU Research Ethics Chair, together with fourth-year BS Nursing students namely Ramil Acebuche, Prince Charl E. Aspiras, Karen Mae L. Estacio, Dayan E. Estropigan, Angela Carelle Galera, Merianne D. Haban, Elroy M. Lim, Lady Maxinne A. Montepalco, Carla Mae L. Panergo, and Mia Rose Rivera.
