The Saint Louis College (SLC) first-year students enrolled in the Juris Doctor Program visited the National Apiculture Research Training and Development Institute (NARTDI) on May 11, 2024, to learn about apiculture or beekeeping. This journey is a part of their community engagement and exposure activity and aims to broaden their understanding and perspectives of legal issues intersecting with tourism and the environment.

The initiative was part of the Colleges’ broader objective for their students to gain insights into the legal perspectives adjoining tourism, aligning with their ongoing activity to craft an ordinance pertinent to the Agri-Tourism project of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bacnotan, La Union. The visit gave the students a holistic perspective on the legal dimensions of responsible tourism practices while integrating environmental protection to foster sustainable development, economic growth, and environmental conservation within Bacnotan.
