DMMMSU and its Faculty Association inked its Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) anew. The CNA highlights critical amendments to enhance working conditions and overall faculty satisfaction.  Key amendments include the provision of a lactation break of one hour per day for six months and three days for the University FAD Day celebration.

Original provisions of the CNA include management prerogatives and shared responsibility and accountability, agreement to resolve matters related to employment conditions, career advancement opportunities, grievance resolution mechanisms, and benefits for faculty members and nonteaching personnel — including Faculty and Staff Development Program (FSDP) study leave, and productivity-enhancing measures.

It is through the CNA that all officers and members of both the teaching and nonteaching associations receive an incentive, paid every year, and during the lifetime of the CNA. The monetary incentive comes from savings through cost-cutting measures initiated and implemented by the Administration and FAD.

Present during the signing of the negotiation agreement were Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., Dr. Antonio O. Ogbinar, Atty. Kristine Gay B. Balanag, Atty. Rozzanne Victoria G. Buccat-Villamin, (representing the administration) Prof. Mark Anthony C. Ochoa, Prof. Macrina Batoon, Prof. Frediz Winda Badua, (representing the Faculty Association of DMMMSU), Ms. Valerie Salamanca (representing the Nonteaching Association), Prof. Jerome Villanueva, and Dr. Haly Kimberly O. Grindulo.

The University Administration and the Faculty Association both expressed their intent to work closely to ensure the effective implementation of the amended CNA, a testament to the power of constructive dialogue and collaboration in achieving positive change within the academic community. (By Ayu)
