Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University joined the EduCanada Pathways to Partnership Sessions 2023, organized by the Embassy of Canada. The annual event aims to facilitate mutually beneficial partnerships in student recruitment and academic and research collaboration between higher education institutions in the Philippines and Canada.
DMMMSU was represented by Dr. Joanne C. Rivera, SLUC Chancellor, during the event session in Iloilo Convention Center on October 21, 2023. With her were other officials of DMMMSU-SLUC: Dr. Raquel D. Quiambao, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Nona M. Rivera, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Tjaart Jan B. Estrada, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies; Dr. Gaudelia C. Villanueva, Dean of the College of Agriculture; Prof. Gabriel O. Bacungan, Dean, College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences; and Dr. Charlotte Mildred Marcelline Asuncion, Focal Person of the College of Medicine.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jerald U. Saculles and Ms. Rowena T. Badua, Coordinators for Cross-Border Education and Home-Based Education, respectively, attended the event session in Conrad Hotel by Hilton, Manila, on October 23, 2023.
The sessions featured over 30 Canadian institutions and were attended by guidance counselors, education agents, internationalization officers, and officials of Philippine HEIs.
DMMMSU aims to forge partnerships with Canadian institutions in the fields of, but not limited to, agriculture, agroforestry and forestry, business management, healthcare, veterinary medicine, education, and information science. (By Jerald Saculles)
