La Union, Philippines – Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) College of Medicine conducted a benchmarking activity at the College of Medicine of Cavite State University (CSU) on September 28, 2023.

The purpose was to identify the best practices and explore innovative teaching methods and strategies for enhancing medical education.

Dr. Elsie M. Pacho, VP for Academic Affairs and Internationalization; Prof. Laiza Niduaza, Director for Instruction; Dr. Joanne C. Rivera, SLUC Chancellor; Dr. Fauslyn Gay Amongan, SLUC Head for Instruction; Dr. Charlotte Mildred Marceline Asuncion, resident Physician in SLUC, and Prof. Christine Ugay constituted the team.  They were accommodated by Dr. Ellen Galvez, Dean of the College of Medicine; Dr. Gerald Natanauan; Dr. Bethlehem Mula-Natanauan; and Dr. Abby Rodriguez.

One of the event’s highlights was a tour of CSU’s state-of-the-art medical facilities, where DMMMSU delegates witnessed firsthand the advanced resources and technology available to medical students at CSU.

The benchmarking activity concluded with a commitment to more collaborations between the two institutions.

DMMMSU College of Medicine has been preparing for the ocular evaluation of the Technical Evaluators from CHED this October. (By Ayu)
