Students from the College of Education – South La Union Campus showed skills and sportsmanship in spinning and smashing opponents in the recently concluded Cordillera Leg of the Table Tennis Cup hosted by the Philippine Table Tennis Federation, in Baguio City on September 10–11, 2022.

Jireh John Yno Perez from the Laboratory High School dominated the 12-year-old-and-under boys’ division. Following in the same division are Perseus Odric Manaois who grabbed a Silver Medal and Ron Matteo Pepito who grabbed a Bronze (both from ELS).

Meanwhile, two students from the Elementary Laboratory School dominated the 12-year-old-and-under girls’ division — Ellery Castle Gatchallian who brought home a gold medal and Jharmaine Nicole Perez who brought home a silver medal.

In the boys’ division, 16 years old and under, Richard Nixon Rivera (LHS) won silver and in the girls’ division, Una Xyla De Guzman won bronze.

In the women’s open division, Rhoda Ross Lallata, a BSEd Math stuent, was awarded bronze.

Earlier on Monday, the team had their courtesy call with the principals of the laboratory schools, the Dean of the College of Education, the Chancellor of SLUC, and the Municipal Mayor of Agoo, along with the Sangguniang Bayan Members.

The team was trained by Mr. Johny Perez, Gerald Joseph Taguinod, and Mr. Delfin Cases. (Renz Ferrer)
