President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr.  warmly welcomed Dir. Kelia Cummins of US Department of State – Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of US Embassy Manila, Atty  Asis G. Perez Tanggol Kalikasan Senior Legal Adviser and concurrently the In-Country Representative of US DOI-ITAP and Atty. Ronely Bizquerra-Sheen, Tanggol Kalikasan Executive Director during their courtesy call on March 31, 2022.

Dir. Cummins turned-over to President Manuel the blueprint of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Patrol Boat to guide University trainers in fabricating boats with the hope that DMMMSU will become a training ground for boat-building using fiberglass reinforced plastic in the Province. Dr. Manuel also received a framed photo of the boat moulder.

Tanggol Kalikasan and DMMMSU through the Institute of Environmental Governance (IEG) with support from DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) spearheaded the construction of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Patrol Boat Training from March 22-30, 2022 at the FRTI, Paroair, Balaoan, La Union. A 30-footer boat was built and donated to the Provincial Government of La Union to support its coastal law enforcement program, marine protected area monitoring, and for disaster response among others.
