The Laboratory High School Department of the North La Union Campus conducted  ‘Project Panagyaman: An Outreach Program’ in Barangay Arosip, Bacnotan, La Union on December 22, 2021.

A total of 82 learners enrolled in the Barangay Daycare Center and Arosip Elementary School benefited from the said activity. They received school supplies, reading and coloring materials, hygiene kits, toys, and tumblers filled with chocolates. Meanwhile, parlor games were also conducted for learners and parents. Cash prizes and other surprise gifts fueled the fun and excitement in the said activity.

In her message, Prof. Joan S. Valdez, Laboratory High School Chairperson, emphasized that Project Panagyaman is one way of giving thanks and sharing blessings to other people especially during these challenging times.

“The spirit of Christmas is manifested in giving and we thank all the sponsors for being with us in this journey of reaching those who are in need,” Prof. Valdez said in an interview.

On the other hand, Mrs. Ferlyn C. Santiago, Barangay Captain of Arosip, expressed her thanks for choosing their barangay to be the recipient of the outreach program and emphasized the significant role of DMMMSU in their community.

“Aglaplapusanan ti inkam panagyaman ti isasangbay iti bunggoyyo ditoy baranggaymi ta inmaykayo nangipaay iti programa a nangted iti ragsak para kadagiti ub-ubbingmi. (We are immensely grateful to your group for visiting us in our baranggay to conduct a program that gave joy to our children.),” Mrs. Santiago said.

The Project Panagyaman was made possible through the support of the Laboratory High School faculty and alumni, DMMMSU Administration, LGU Bacnotan, and other stakeholders with the assistance of Barangay Arosip Officials and Arosip Elementary School teaching force. (Lester Orpilla)
