Six (6) programs of DMMMSU-North La Union Campus underwent Level II Online Accreditation Survey Visit by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) from April 4-8, 2022. These programs are the Bachelor of Science in Biology of the College of Arts and Sciences; and the Master of Science in Agronomy, Master of Science in Animal Science, Doctor of Philosophy in Agronomy, Doctor of Philosophy in Animal Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration of the College of Graduate Studies.
During the opening program on April 4, Dr. Junifer Rey E. Tabafunda, NLUC Chancellor, welcomed the accreditors and the local task force members. He also reminded everyone that the accreditation status of a certain program is not permanent; thereby, a program needs to undergo continuous assessment to ensure that its quality is maintained.
Meanwhile, President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. extended his appreciation of the accreditors being DMMMSU’s partners: “We are partners here and through this we can carry out greater transformations”.
Before the evaluation started, the University and Campus officials and the NLUC accreditation task force members were introduced by Ms. Judyleen M. Sanchez, the Campus HRMO; and Dr. Rina B. Ronquillo, the Campus Head for Instruction Unit, respectively.
Also, Dr. Enrico R. Rivano, the Coordinator for BS Biology and the two (2) MS programs; and Dr. Gliceria Arlyn G. Garancho, the Coordinator for the three (3) doctorate programs under survey introduced their respective team leaders and lead accreditors:

Dr. Raul B. Sampaga, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences of NLUC, during the exit meeting on April 8, reminded everyone on one of the primary roles of accreditation in an institution; that is to promote and maintain high standards of education and he expressed his positivity on the outcome of this process.
“We are certain that through our accreditors–your most valuable inputs, a better and a stronger DMMMSU looms,” he added.
Also, during the exit conference, Dr. Rivano conveyed: “As we scrutinized the accreditation documents, we noticed that the University has exhibited its best performance and good practices in its four-fold mandates namely instruction, research, extension, and production.”
“Perfection in accreditation is never attainable, yet excellence is just around; hence, we identified areas that require improvement,” Dr. Rivano added.
Dr. Garancho, on the other hand, appreciated the efforts of the local task force members for providing additional supporting documents the accreditors requested.
Dr. Elsie M. Pacho, Vice President for Academic Affairs, spoke in behalf of President Manuel and affirmed his commitment to support accreditation undertakings in DMMMSU.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Anny Ross A. Bayan, Head for Internal Quality Assurance Systems, expressed salute to the accreditors for their efforts in scrutinizing the submitted documents and for their suggestions and recommendations for continuous improvement of the said programs.
