On April 12, 2025, DMMMSU Open University System (DMMMSU OUS) conducted a research seminar aimed at equipping graduate students with essential skills in APA formatting, research structure, AI integration, and research ethics.

The event, titled “Navigating Research: A Comprehensive Guide to APA Formatting, Research Format & Style, AI Integration, and Ethical Considerations,” took place from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the DMMMSU OUS Multi-Purpose Hall.

Spearheaded by Ms. Claire F. Pascua, in-charge of Library Services and Development, in collaboration with Dr. Cristita G. Guerra, Program Chair for Graduate Studies, the seminar gathered students from Master in Development Administration, Master of Arts in Science Education, and Doctor of Philosophy in Development Administration programs. 

Executive Director Dr. Bernardo D. Lamadrid opened the program with a welcome address, underscoring the importance of research literacy in academic and professional growth.

Dr. Guerra led the first lecture, “Research Format & Style: Guide to Conducting Quality Research,” which focused on helping students understand the structure and standards of academic writing. Ms. Pascua followed with a session on APA formatting, digital research strategies, and the use of AI tools in academic work.

The seminar concluded with a workshop on research ethics, led by Dr. Joel C. Estacio, Chair of the Research Ethics Committee, highlighting the ethical responsibilities of scholars in modern research environments.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Luzviminda F. Salamanca, Head of Instruction, praised the organizers and participants for their enthusiasm in enhancing their research skills.
