Established in 1987, the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) is a non-profit consortium of higher education institutions dedicated to advancing open and distance learning. Its mission is to expand educational access across Asia and enhance the quality of institutions in terms of academic management, instruction, and research. AAOU supports distance education through innovative teaching methodologies, upholds professional and ethical standards, fosters the growth of open and distance learning, collaborates with relevant organizations, and strengthens ties with regional and international bodies.
DMMMSU OUS has been consistently attending training, seminars, and conferences sponsored by AAOU. Through its engagement with AAOU, the university has fostered meaningful collaborations with other member institutions, enhancing its capacity to provide high-quality education to a diverse range of learners.
This membership marks another milestone for DMMMSU OUS in its mission to deliver accessible, inclusive, and technology-driven learning opportunities. As an associate member, the University benefits from AAOU’s vast network of resources, best practices, and professional development programs, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of open and distance education in the Philippines and beyond.
DMMMSU OUS looks forward to leveraging this opportunity to further enhance its programs, build stronger international linkages, and continue its mission of providing lifelong learning opportunities for students and professionals alike. (By Claudia Denise Barbadillo)
