DMMMSU and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office I (PDEA RO1) Treatment and Rehabilitation Center formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held at the Dr. Herminigildo A. Salangad Memorial Hall at the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center-La Union (TRC-La Union) on March 24, 2025.

Dr. Alvin Malicdem represented DMMMSU President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. He joined the officials from PDEA RO1 and TRC-La Union in the ceremonial signing. The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening rehabilitation efforts, particularly through the implementation of a capstone project aimed at enhancing recovery services for individuals affected by substance abuse.
According to Dr. Marvin F. Munar, Chief of Hospital III, the collaboration is expected to improve the quality of rehabilitation programs in the region by integrating academic expertise, enforcement strategies, and specialized treatment approaches.
The event underscored the commitment of all parties to establishing stronger institutional cooperation in addressing substance abuse challenges. Officials expressed optimism that the partnership will contribute significantly to improving rehabilitation and recovery initiatives in La Union. (By Ayu)
