Bacnotan, La Union – Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) conducted a seminar titled “ABNKPHGDG NA AKO: Using HGDP in PAPs at the Conference Room of the Administration Building, DMMMSU North La Union Campus” on March 21, 2025.
Organized by the University’s Gender and Development (GAD) Office, the event featured Ms. Mariz Dafnae H. Mendoza, a recognized member of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) GAD Resource Pool, as the Learning Service Provider (LSP). The seminar aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) and their application in Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs).
The program commenced with the preliminaries and an opening message from Dr. Sherlyn Marie D. Nitura, GAD Director. Ms. Mendoza then facilitated key discussions covering the Basic Gender and Development (GAD) Concept, an Overview of the HGDG Framework, the HGDG Design Checklist, and the HGDG Project Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PIMME) Checklist.
To reinforce learning, the seminar included an open forum and a hands-on workshop session led by Ms. Mendoza. The event concluded with the awarding of certificates and tokens to participants and the LSP, followed by closing remarks from Dr. Nitura.
This initiative aligns with the Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW) advocacy and as part of the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration. (By Aniway P. Millares)
