The National Apiculture Research Training and Development Institute (NARTDI) of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) conducted specialized training on bee breeding and queen bee rearing at the NARTDI Conference Hall on March 5-6, 2025.

Rheal Christian Lafreniere, a renowned Catalyste+ advisor from Manitoba, Canada, served as the Learning Service Provider who shared his expertise in apiculture with local beekeepers. With extensive experience and a deep passion for beekeeping, Mr. Lafreniere provided hands-on training designed to enhance beekeeping techniques and improve colony management.
Over the course of two days, participants gained practical knowledge of sustainable beekeeping practices, hive management, and queen rearing. The training emphasized the critical role of healthy queen bees in maintaining strong, productive colonies, ultimately supporting both honey production and pollination efforts.(By Jasmin O.
