DMMMSU – Open University System (DOUS) recently conducted an Internship Preparedness Seminar for Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students at the DOUS Multipurpose Hall.
The seminar aimed to equip students with essential workplace knowledge and skills in preparation for their internships. Dr. Lher Verell S. Palabay, BSBA Program Chairperson, opened the program by outlining its objectives, emphasizing the importance of professional readiness. Dr. Luzviminda F. Salamanca, Head of Instruction, and Dr. Bernardo D. Lamadrid, Executive Director of DOUS, also delivered inspirational messages reinforcing the university’s commitment to producing competent business professionals.
Key topics covered in the seminar included Republic Act (RA) 6713 (Code of Ethical Standards for Government Officials and Employees), RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), RA 11313 (Safe Spaces Act), and discussions on personal and professional development. The session also provided guidance on internship requirements, particularly on crafting an acceptable Curriculum Vitae (CV) for submission to cooperating agencies and preparing a Narrative Report as an expected output.
Dr. Jayson O. Madayag, Atty. Jonald F. Carrera, Prof. Ma. Luisa O. San Jose, and Dr. Lher Verell S. Palabay, served as Learning Service Providers.
The event concluded with the awarding of certificates of appreciation to the speakers and closing remarks by Prof. Claudia Denise P. Barbadillo, DOUS Guidance Counselor, who emphasized the importance of professionalism, ethical responsibility, and adaptability in the workplace.
