Bacnotan, La Union – Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) has officially announced its planned activities for the National Women’s Month (NWM) Celebration 2025, encouraging comprehensive participation from university personnel and stakeholders.
In a memorandum dated February 27, 2025, University President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. emphasized the importance of active involvement in various initiatives designed to promote gender equality and empower women throughout March 2025.
The key activities include:
- Displaying tarpaulins and conducting social media campaigns from March 1 to March 31
- Wearing purple shirts every Wednesday from March 5 to March 26.
- Zumba every Wednesday from March 5 to March 26 for Central Administration Personnel
- Utilizing the NWMC Facebook Profile Frame to enhance online awareness.
Also, the University will host a series of training sessions and seminars that will address topics such as:
- What and why do we celebrate NWM every March?
- Gender equality,
- Magna Carta of Women
- Using HGDG in Planning, Research, and Extension Studies, Programs and Projects
- Safe and Tech Innovation Cybercrime
- SOGIESC Awareness on the Academe
Another event is the Women with Disability Celebration 2025, scheduled for March 31, 2025, organized by Ms. Perla A. Sotelo; GAD (Gender and Development) seminars, the “Serbisyo Para Kay Juan at Juana 2025” tree-planting initiative on March 26; and the illumination of offices with purple elements as a tribute to the invaluable contributions of women to society.
DMMMSU encourages all operational units to actively participate in the celebration.
