Dr. Nancy Frigillana-Galban, Head Librarian at DMMMSU–South La Union Campus, was honored as the Most Outstanding Louisian Alumni for 2025 in Competence at the SLU Grand Alumni Homecoming Rambakan 2025 Gala in Baguio City.

Dr. Galban was recognized for her accomplishments, such as the DMMMSU Library-on-Air, launched in 2022 with DZAG 97.1 Radyo Pilipinas Agoo, which provided educational content that reached the global arena during the pandemic.

Since 2004, she has served as Regional President of the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. – Ilocos Region Librarians Council (PLAI-IRLC), promoting professional development through local and international seminars. She is also involved with  CHED-RQAT and the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), contributing to the accreditation of 95 out of 112 State Universities in the Philippines. 

As a faculty member in the MLIS program at Saint Louis College since 2018, Dr. Galban’s contributions to library science and education highlight her deserving status as this year’s awardee. (By Kethley Joyce L. Perona)
