DMMMSU shared its knowledge management (KM) initiatives in social media with the Commission on Higher Education Region I (CHED-R1) during a Brown Bag Session at the CHED-R1 Conference Room. The activity was part of CHED-R1’s Project WRITE, aimed at enhancing its personnel’s social media management skills.
Mr. Gloeduard G. Milanes, Information Officer II, representing DMMMSU’s Director for Strategic Communications, Dr. Maricon C. Viduya, presented DMMMSU’s social media content creation, management, and governance. He emphasized DMMMSU’s integration of KM principles, highlighting efficient knowledge capture, creation, sharing, storing, and utilization. He discussed StratCom’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), collaborative strategies, and their establishment of a content library for streamlined social media operations.
Also, Mr. Milanes shared DMMMSU’s culture of inclusivity, where students, teaching, and nonteaching personnel contribute content. He further showcased DMMMSU’s success in leveraging limited resources through community support and innovative storytelling.
CHED-R1’s Project WRITE aims to build capacity in news writing, photography, and infographic design to boost the commission’s social media presence. The project aligns with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The Brown Bag session with DMMMSU was part of their five-week program designed to enhance transparency, governance, and stakeholder engagement through strategic social media management. (By Ayu)
