Bacnotan, La Union — February 13, 2025 — Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Ifugao State University (IFSU), and Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) signed a Memorandum of Agreement to boost sustainable apiculture development in the Cordillera Administrative Region.

The signing, held at the National Apiculture Research, Training, and Development Institute (NARTDI) Conference Room in Sapilang, Bacnotan, was led by DMMMSU President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., NARTDI Executive Director Dr. Joseph A. Panas, IFSU President Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon, and ASIST President Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza, Jr.

Dr. Panas emphasized NARTDI’s role in advancing apiculture in collaboration with IFSU and ASIST. Dr. Codamon-Dugyon and Dr. Turqueza reiterated their commitment to promoting beekeeping within their institutions and across the region.

Dr. Manuel highlighted the partnership’s potential to drive sustainable beekeeping practices through shared knowledge and resources, fostering regional agricultural sustainability.

This initiative aims to strengthen the beekeeping industry in the Cordillera Region and contribute to national agricultural development.
