Twenty-nine students from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) finished the Online Winter Program hosted by Kangwon National University (KNU) in South Korea from January 13 to January 24, 2025.

This virtual program is operated as a two-credit seasonal class in KNU, specifically An Introduction to Korea for Foreigners. It brings together students from various academic disciplines to engage in educational and cultural activities, fostering international collaboration, cultural exchange, and academic growth.

DMMMSU participants include 12 students from the College of Education (SLUC), 10 students from the College of Arts and Sciences (SLUC), five students from the College of Arts and Sciences (NLUC), and two students from the Institute of Agri-Business Management (NLUC).

The program featured lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions to promote international collaboration and cultural exchange. Students gained the opportunity to broaden their academic knowledge, develop cross-cultural understanding, and engage with global issues.

Ms. Kristine Pearl Cuevas, a participant from NLUC,  shared about her engagement in the program. “The experience enriched my academic journey while helping me develop cultural awareness and foster international cooperation,” said Cuevas.

Participants learned from professors and connected with peers from around the globe, creating valuable networks and experiences. The program also featured cultural activities highlighting Korean traditions, further enriching the appreciation of global diversity.  (by April Rose Monis, IZN OJT)
