DMMMSU-MLUC Extension Unit spearheaded a three-day training titled “Empowering Extension Professionals: Tools for Transformation,” designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of its extension professionals.

Held from January 22 to 24, 2025, the training, initiated by Dr. Benigno G. Ganalon Head for Extension at MLUC, focused on innovative methodologies to improve community engagement and operational effectiveness in agricultural extension work. Participants received comprehensive insights into the entire process of extension operations—from preparation to implementation—emphasizing the importance of responsiveness to evolving needs and trends.

Learning service providers included Dr. Gregory B. Viste (Director for Extension), Prof. Rodolfo G. Nillo (Coordinator for Planning, Budget, and Monitoring and Evaluation), and Ms. Dianne A. Peralta (Coordinator for Training). Additionally, Dr. Marlyn M. Amante, Head for Gender and Development (GAD), delivered a session on the GAD Component and scoring in extension projects.

This initiative is expected to yield long-term benefits for the university and the communities it serves by promoting more organized, responsive, and effective extension efforts. By equipping them with technical skills and emphasizing improved documentation and filing processes, the training prepared participants to deliver more impactful extension programs.
