Almar P. Cendaña’s work, a minimalist mixed art titled “Kapanatagan,” which portrays a marginalized worker, is featured in PhilHealth’s 2025 Calendar. Cendaña, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAComm) sophomore from the College of Arts in Sciences of DMMMSU South La Union Campus (SLUC), was the regional champion in PhilHealth’s Digital Poster-Making Contest last year.
The competition is part of PhilHealth’s continuous efforts to increase health awareness by showcasing the value of health and well-being through eye-catching and provocative digital posters.
On January 23, 2025, Cendaña paid a courtesy call with DMMMSU President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., DMMMSU-SLUC Chancellor Dr. Joanne C. Rivera, and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Dean Dr. Raquel D. Quiambao.
Dr. Dennis B. Andre, the Regional Vice-President of PhilHealth, and other PhilHealth associates also joined the courtesy call to acknowledge Cendaña as the regional winner and to hand over PhilHealth’s 2025 calendar.
Cendana was coached by BA Communication Program Chair, Dr. Ernesto C. Collo, Jr.
