January 20, 2025 – Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) researchers visited Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – South La Union Campus (DMMMSU-SLUC) Teacher Education Program to launch a collaborative research project aimed at improving the performance of Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) in Region 1 on the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).
The research initiative, “MMSU CTE Initiatives for an Improved BLEPT Performance of Region I,” is funded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This project seeks to enhance the quality of teacher education in the region by furthering collaboration and sharing best practices among TEIs.
The MMSU research team, composed of Prof. Bryan Eli B. Sadorra, Prof. Gina Sylvia S. Gaoat, Prof. Jahnese D. Asuncion, Prof. Romel A. Pascua, Prof. Leizel A. Concepcion, Mr. Dave Patrick L. Ruiz, and Prof. Maria Eliza S. Lopez, was welcomed by DMMMSU-SLUC Chancellor Dr. Joanne C. Rivera and the College of Education Administration, led by Dean Dr. Nona M. Rivera.
The collaboration enabled MMSU and DMMMSU to discuss their Teacher Education programs’ strengths, identify challenges in BLEPT preparation, and explore potential solutions. (by John Mark G. Lachica)
