Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) visited DMMMSU-NLUC to explore the university’s approach to Agroforestry and related fields on January 10, 2025.

The visit was part of MMSU’s effort to develop their Forestry Program. MMSU officials expressed their awareness of DMMMSU’s strong reputation for providing high-quality education in this area, and they aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the university’s practices in curriculum design and implementation, practical training, field exposure, community engagement, research initiatives, and program management and accreditation processes. The visitors were warmly welcomed by Prof. Lilito Gavina, Vice President for Administration and Quality Assurance, along with Dean Jaymark Cortado, faculty members from the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAFF), and the Quality Assurance team of NLUC. The group toured the CAFF nursery, where they learned about the university’s efforts in environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture. They also visited the Rambutan plantation, Agroforestry Nursery, and Agroforestry Research and Demo Farm. They gained invaluable insight into the practical aspects of agroforestry. (By RMV)
