Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) and Eldica Seafood Processing forged their partnership by signing the Technology Licensing Agreement for four technologies on Bottled Milkfish Products on December 18, 2024.

The agreement, formalized by DMMMSU President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. and Eldica Seafood Processing CEO, Ms. Belma T. Carrera, covers the commercialization of four bottled bangus products: Olive Oil, Corn Oil, Sisig, and Paksiw. These products were developed by Prof. Victoria N. Malaya and her team under the DOST-PCAARRD-funded Food Value Chain of Milkfish. They are now available at Puregold Baguio, La Union, Bacnotan, Nueva Ecija branches.

ELDICA Seafood Processing is a start-up company that is incubated and mentored by DMMMSU ATBI. By leveraging DMMMSU’s technological expertise, the partnership aims to improve product quality and competitiveness in the seafood sector, enhance food security, and create jobs in the region.

The collaboration highlights the vital role of academia-industry partnerships in driving regional development and sustainable practices within the fisheries industry.
