DMMMSU was recognized for its outstanding contributions to higher education at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Internationalization Champion of Nation-building and Sustainability (ICONS) 2024 which was held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on December 17, 2024.

This year, DMMMSU was ranked 1501 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings; and 198th in the World University Rankings for Innovation. 

University President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., represented by former Vice President for Academic and International Affairs Dr. Elsie M. Pacho and Director for International Affairs Dr. Jesus Rafael B. Jarata, received the award from CHED Chairperson Hon. Prospero “Popoy” de Vera, III. The award is an affirmation that University’s position as one of the key players in advancing education in the Philippines.

CHED ICONS Awards is an annual event that honors Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for their significant contributions to the internationalization of education, nation-building, and sustainability efforts.  (By Jesus Rafael B. Jarata)
