DMMMSU’s Quality Management System conforms with ISO 9001:2015 standard which is based on a number of quality management principles which include top management motivation, strong customer focus, process approach, and continual improvement. This was affirmed by ACS W3 Solutionz during the certification audit on December 5-6, 2024.

The ACS W3 Solutionz team, led by Dr. Catherine Talao-Sigua, together with Ms. Gemachita Telan and Mr. Mark Miguel Bautista conducted the Stage 2 audit process which includes interview and discussions with process owners, review of data and records related to the level of performance of the activities involved against required/expected outcomes, review and audit of the particular department’s personnel training and competence and the implementation of Management System requirements.

Also, the auditors conducted visits to the various operating units. 

The objectives of the Stage 2 audit are the following:

1. Ensure that any Findings raised during the Stage 1 audit have been satisfactorily addressed by the organization thus ensuring adequacy with the relevant requirements of the Standard involved.   
2. Assess the extent and effectiveness of the Management’s demonstration of Leadership in respect of the Management System’s integration into normal business activities and the importance of conformance to the requirements of the Management System throughout the organization. 
3.  Assess the extent and effectiveness of implementation of the Management System in all areas, activities, functions of the organization as defined within the  documented scope of the organization and as identified within the applied for scope of certification.  
4. Assess the appropriateness of defined objectives and the apparent adequacy of the documented plans for how such Objectives shall be achieved.   
5. Assess the processes of the Management System that are intended to ensure that continual review and improvement of the Management System itself and evaluate the extent to which these can be expected to be effective in the future.  
6. Assess the overall level of conformance of the Management System to the requirements of the relevant Standard.    
7. Performance as regards legal compliance, operational control of processes, policies; links between the normative requirements, policy, performance objectives and targets, any applicable legal requirements, responsibilities, competence of personnel, operations, procedures, performance data and internal audit findings and conclusions. 

During the closing meeting, President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. extended his appreciation to the external audit team for helping DMMMSU navigate in its ISO journey.

DMMMSU’s ISO journey began in January 2020, when all process owners started with their onerous preparations for the ISO 9001:2015 Certification. On November 19, 2020 the University Quality Management System was certified by ACS W3 Solutionz as conforming to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 in respect to provision of Instruction, Research, Extension, and Support Services.
