On November 27, 2024, DMMMSU held a talk series as part of the 2024 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) at the DMMMSU International Convention Center (ICC) for employees and students. 

The event was organized by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, led by Dr. Sherlyn D. Marie Nitura. Dr. Nitura welcomed attendees, while Mr. Jerald U. Sacules introduced the speaker.

Atty. Rozzane Victoria G. Buccat-Villamin, Director of Legal Services, served as the resource speaker. Her presentation titled “Breaking the Silence: Advocating for Safe Spaces” covered the Safe Spaces Act and other laws related to VAW and Gender-Based Violence. Atty Villamin also emphasized the importance of CHED Memorandum Order No. 3, Series of 2022, which provides essential guidelines on gender-based sexual harassment in higher education institutions and outlines the necessary steps for those involved in sexual harassment cases.
