Seven (7) DMMMSU researchers and extension professionals recently presented their papers at the 5th International Poverty Conference (iPOVCON) held in Tacloban City, Leyte.
Prof. Randolph I. Navasca, Director for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, served as a focal person and the representative of the DMMMSU President. Meanwhile, Dr. Violeta F. Collado presented her extension project related to waste management. Ms. Jenilyn A. Asirot presented her extension paper (poster) on the professor in the barangay. Prof. Salvador P. Llavore presented his paper on the utilization of modern contraceptive methods. Dr. Jomar L. Aban presented his paper on microbes used in agriculture. On the other hand, Mr. Russel F. Deleña attended the conference as an active participant.
Dr. Jomar L. Aban was awarded Top 3 Outstanding Paper Presentation for his paper “Bioremediating Role of Effective Microbes (EMs): Improving the Vegetative Growth Response of Eggplants Using Organic Fertilizer with EMs and Laundry Waste Utilization Technology”. Also, DMMMSU was awarded the “New SUC Collaborator” by Samar State University. (By Jomar L. Aban)
