DMMMSU continues to expand its global footprint with the recent signing of a Memorandum of Agreement Understanding (MoU), and Erasmus+ agreement with Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu in Romania. This five-year partnership focuses on fostering academic and research collaborations while paving the way for new opportunities under the Erasmus+ program.
The partnership, approved through DMMMSU Board of Regents (BOR) Resolution No. 2024-941.b, was formalized through an online signing ceremony held in November 2024. The agreement emphasizes joint initiatives in academic and research development, enabling the two institutions to collaborate on curriculum enhancement, innovative projects, and programs that align with global education standards. Under the Erasmus+ framework, the partnership also aims to facilitate faculty, staff, and student exchanges, offering participants invaluable international exposure and intercultural learning experiences.
This collaboration adds Romania to DMMMSU’s growing list of European partners, which already includes institutions in Finland, Spain, and Poland. With its robust commitment to internationalization, DMMMSU strengthens its network in Europe, further advancing its mission to elevate academic excellence and global engagement.
This collaboration stemmed from the faculty exchange and visit of DMMMSU’s International Affairs Director to Bangladesh, where discussions were held with a co-participant from ULBS Romania. These interactions laid the groundwork for the partnership, culminating in a formal agreement that now opens pathways for Erasmus+ opportunities and international academic exchanges.
University President Dr. Jaime. I. Manuel, Jr. has expressed optimism about the partnership, citing “it as another milestone in enriching opportunities for its academic community.” (By Jesus Rafael Jarata)
