Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) has embarked on its Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Audit for the calendar year 2024. The audit encompassed a diverse array of the University’s units, including instruction, research, extension, and support services, reflecting a comprehensive approach to strengthening overall operations. 

The audit process commenced on October 28, 2024, beginning with the evaluation at the Central Administration (CA), Sericulture Research and Development Institute (SRDI), and the National Apiculture Research, Training, and Development Institute (NARTDI). Subsequent auditing activities were scheduled on October 29 for the North La Union Campus (NLUC), Mid La Union Camps (MLUC), Open University System (OUS), and South La Union Campus (SLUC), and for other processes at SRDI and NARTDI.  The audit concluded at the DMMMSU ICC, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union, on October 30, 2024. 

The University’s seasoned internal quality auditors, who are experts in their respective fields, executed their responsibilities by meticulously and thoroughly reviewing documents, records, and reports associated with the QMS. Additionally, they engaged in constructive interviews with faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and students, seeking essential feedback on the efficacy and efficiency of the University’s QMS. 

Atty. Kate C. Potingan-Licay, Director of Quality Assurance and Concurrent Director of Internal Audit, led the IQA Audit Team. She was supported by Dr. Emmanuel J. Songcuan, Head of SLUC-IQAS; Dr. Anny Ross A. Bayan, Head of NLUC-IQAS; Dr. Genevieve C. Cadaoas, Head of MLUC-IQAS; Engr. Raquel C. Gamotlong, Head of NARTDI-IQAS; and Ms. Isella Drezden P. Tagura, the University Coordinator for Internal Management Audit. Their collective expertise was further augmented by the contributions of IQAS staff members Ms. Shane Ross E. Banayos and Ms. Angela Louise Flores, who comprised the Secretariat. 

Through the diligence and commitment of the DMMMSU IQAS, this IQA audit for the calendar year 2024 lays a robust foundation for the University’s ongoing pursuit of excellence, ensuring enhanced service delivery and fostering a positive impact on its stakeholders. (By Aniway P. Millares)
