DMMMSU College of Graduate Studies (CGS) launched the “Harmonizing Opportunities and Possibilities for Empowerment (HOPE): Knowledge and Skill-Based Collaboration with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology” on October 16, 2024.
This collaboration aims to empower the community through targeted knowledge-sharing activities that enhance skills and foster professional development within the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
The kick-off activity, Professional Sharing (PHASE 1), was led by Dr. Eduardo C. Corpuz, MLUC Chancellor, who was represented by Dr. Benigno G. Ganalon (Head, Extension). Dr. Aloysius J. Aurelio, Dean of the CGS, delivered a presentation on Leadership Skills, while Dr. Avelina C. Visaya, Research & Creative Works In-charge, discussed Basic Communication and Correspondence. Additionally, Dr. Manolito F. Dela Cruz, Chairperson of the Technology Education programs, covered Leadership Management, and Dr. Josephine V. Gimpaya, Chairperson of the Development Administration programs, focused on Policy Development.
Project HOPE is part of the college’s ASENSADO (Alleviating the Socio-Economic and Environmental Status of Adopted Communities through Diverse Opportunities) Program. The next phase, PHASE 2, will concentrate on Livelihood Skills Training. The initiative involved the participation of personnel and staff from five jails in La Union, supervised by JSINSP Cherry Jane A. Reparip, the Provincial Jail Administrator.
